Contraindications

  • Do not use on patients with malfunctional occlusion (bruxzers or clenchers)
  • Not recommended for posterior bridges
  • Do not use as abutments for cast partials
  • Do not use for 2 or more consecutive pontics
  • Do not use for Maryland-type bridges
  • Do not use when minimal occlusal clearances
    cannot be achieved: 0.7mm anterior, 1.0mm posterior
  • Underlying prep stump shade extremely dark or cast posts. E.max cannot block out these darker underlying stump shades. In these cases a zirconia coping is needed for block out, or a PFM.

Suggested Preparation

Anterior crowns require a CHAMFER margin:

  • 1.0-1.5 mm facial/labial reduction
  • 1.0 mm deep chamfer margin
  • .07-1.2 mm lingual reduction

Veneers require a CHAMFER margin

  • 0.3-1.0mm facial/labial reduction
  • 0.3-0.7 mm deep chamfer margin

Posterior crowns require a CHAMFER margin:

  • 1.0-1.5 mm occlusal reduction
  • 1.5 mm axial
  • 1.0 mm deep chamfer margin
